On 22 May, @PQI – Portuguese Quantum Institute organised the Workshop Quantum Technologies and Industry: Towards Quantum Made in Portugal to foster the involvement of industry to building a quantum ecossystem in Portugal.
The workshop focused on informing industrial stakeholders in Portugal about the latest developments in Quantum Technologies, and upcoming opportunities for industry, including in the context of the Quantum Europe Strategy, and the upcoming EU Quantum Act.
The workshop addressed the role of industry in quantum business ecosystems, including providing use-cases, developing classical technologies enabling quantum industry, and fostering innovation in quantum technologies. To foster industry engagement, PQI’s CQII – Centre for Quantum Industry and Innovation launched a survey to identify businesses’ quantum capabilities with the aim to building a catalogue of quantum ready companies. The workshop was also an opportunity to announce the creation of the Centre for Quantum Policy, and PQI’s new member Portuguese Space Agency (PT Space) bringing to six PQI’s full members: Deloitte, Portuguese Institute for Quality – IPQ, Portuguese Space Agency (PT Space), Instituto Superior Técnico, Grupo Visabeira and VdA Vieira de Almeida.
The workshop was organised by the Centre for Quantum Industry and Innovation of the PQI – Portuguese Quantum Institute, in the context of its initiative “Quantum Made In Portugal”. It counted with the support of ISQ – Instituto da Soldadura e Qualidade, Portuguese Institute for Quality – IPQ and Grupo Visabeira.
