Yasser Omar was interviewed for newspaper Expresso

Professor Yasser Omar, President and Scientific Coordinator of the PQI - Portuguese Quantum Institute, was interviewed for the newspaper Expresso, in the podcast Futuro do Futuro.

With more than 20 years of experience in the field, Professor Yasser Omar has been performing research in the field of Quantum Information Science with the purpose of anticipating one of the biggest technological revolutions. In this interview, he uses his expertise to explain fundamental principles of Quantum Mechanics and debate the possible impacts of Quantum Technologies. Namely, for a Quantum Computer, he states:

“Security is based on the slowness of computers. If a new computer paradigm appears now, such as a quantum computer, this is at risk”

But not all is lost! In the interview he debates how security can be reobtained, for example via other Quantum Technologies, such as Quantum Communications.
