Project QIM - Quantum Information in Malta

The University of Malta (UM) and the PQI – Portuguese Quantum Institute are collaborating on the MCST (Malta Council for Science and Technology) granted IPAS+ (International Partnership & Awards Scheme Plus) project "QIM-Quantum Information in Malta". The partnership includes Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), the University of Helsinki (Finland), and ICFO-The Institute of Photonic Sciences (Spain). QIM aims at establishing sustainable research collaborations on quantum technologies, mainly focusing on hybrid quantum-classical algorithms, via research visits and an end-of-project workshop to be held in Malta by the end of May 2023. Besides purely research activities, QIM aims at kick-starting an EU-integrated Maltese quantum ecosystem, taking as examples other partners' quantum ecosystems.
